Our Next 90 meals...

Last year my husband and I changed our lifestyle to get healthier; we ate healthier foods and worked out a lot more. He lost 50 pounds and I lost 20.
This year we are just focusing on maintaining our weight loss and maybe loosing a few more pounds.

One big change this year for us is that our son who is currently 1 ½ is eating more and more of the foods that we eat. We are very excited for him to eat more and more new foods but we are also very cautious of what we are feeding him (sugars, fats etc.). It makes us much more aware what we are actually eating when we sit down to the dinner table and think “hmmmm should our son really be eating this?” In all reality-if we don’t feel comfortable feeding it to our son, we shouldn’t be consuming it either.

So for the next 30 days I will be photographing all of the meals that we make and posting them on this blog. It is a way for my husband and I to look back and see what we are eating, how much we are eating and what we are feeding our son and how it impacts us or maybe doesn’t impact us.

We are not looking to use this as a weight loss tool but maybe more of an accountability tool.

On side note, I LOVE FOOD! I love to eat! It seems like a silly statement to make because eating is something that everybody does, but I thoroughly enjoy making my meals, trying new foods, and making old classics with a new twist. Everyone has to eat so might as well make it fun, enjoyable and healthy (yes it is possible to have all 3 in the same meal!).

So we begin with this evening’s dinner-
Spanish rice with fire roasted tomatoes, shrimp with chili lime seasoning (YUM), with sliced pears. Drinks: Water and Skim Milk

Our dinner was a late dinner due to running schedules so our son had his dinner a little earlier in the evening. Jacks dinner was as follows-
Grilled chicken breast, sliced pears, whole grain brown rice carrots, peas and corn , and a few craisans! Drink: Whole Milk

I am looking forward to keeping this up, I promise to photograph it all, the good, the bad and the ugly...I am sure we will have a mixture of it all over the next 30 days!
